Kentucky’s Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project is a state-wide early learning initiative established by House Bill 695. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is now overseeing the Pilot Project. The KDE recognizes the importance of early learning and is dedicated to helping all children throughout the state master essential academic skills in math and reading and promote kindergarten-readiness with our My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, and My Reading Academy Español programs.
Through the Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project, our adaptive math and reading programs—and in some cases tablet devices—are being provided at no cost by the Kentucky Department of Education to qualified families who sign up.

How can families sign up for the Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project?
Simply complete this online form to get started. Within 48 hours, we will send you an email with the student(s) QR code(s) and a Caregiver Guide, and then an account activation email within an hour after the first email.
Do you have a Getting Started guide or other help materials for families?
Yes. Click here to download our Getting Started Guide (PDF). Click here to download our Galaxy A9 guide.
The Getting Started Guide explains how to activate your Age of Learning Account, launch the programs, and access our Caregiver Center to monitor usage and progress. You should also receive a Getting Started Guide along with your QR code. If you qualified for a free tablet device, you will also receive a Tech Guide when it is delivered that will explain how to set up the device.
How do we activate our account so we can use the programs?
You will be sent an email from the Age of Learning management system (Welcome@Learn.AgeofLearning.com) with an activation link to set up an account.
To activate your account, follow these steps:
1. Check your inbox for your account for the set-up email from Age of Learning. Make sure you check your spam, promotions, and junk folders.
2. Click the activation link in your email.
3. Follow the prompts to create a password.
4. Save the email and password associated with your account.
What should we do if we didn't get an account activation/set-up email?
It is simple to request that another set-up email is sent to you. Go to educate.aofl.com/password/request, enter the email address you used to enroll in this Kindergarten Readiness Pilot, and click Request Password Reset to send yourself a new email.
- Please wait at least 15 minutes for the system to process your request and send the email.
- Follow the prompts on the email to activate the account and create your log-in credentials (the email address you just used and a new password you will choose).
How do we log on to My Math Academy and the other programs?
To use My Math Academy and other programs at home, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Age of Learning icon (Login.AgeofLearning.com) located on the tablet you were sent. If you didn't get a tablet, use your own computer or device to go to https://login.ageoflearning.com/.
2. Log in with the email address and password you created when activating your Age of Learning account. (If you were sent a QR code you can click the Scan Badge button on the right and then hold the QR code up to your device's camera.)
3. Click on your child’s profile and their passcode, and then select My Math Academy or My Reading Academy to begin gameplay.
The QR code we got isn't working, so how can we log on?
The first option would be to go to https://login.ageoflearning.com/ and log on with the email and password you used to activate your account
You should also have been sent a QR code via email. If you still have that email, you may want to try printing out the QR code again in case there was an error in the first printing.
Note: There is a QR code at the very end of the Getting Started guide that was included with your device (and also emailed to you). That is NOT your QR code to log in to your programs; it is just a generic QR code that goes to this Help Center.
Will children use these programs and devices in school or at home?
This pilot project is to encourage at-home learning and is not for in-school use. The goal of the Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project is to promote kindergarten readiness by supplementing and expanding any early learning opportunities that young children may have in preschools or other learning facilities with free access to our research-validated math and reading programs at home.
Can more than one child in a family participate in this program?
Yes. Families can enroll more than one child, and we will provide licenses for each child to use the programs with their own account as part of this program.
What kind of device is being distributed to families in this program?
Families who qualify will receive a Samsung Galaxy A9 tablet. Tablets will offer access to our programs via home Wi-Fi or, in some cases, cellular access that has been activated for the device. See this Galaxy A9 Tablet getting started guide. Note: The guide covers how to connect to a Wi-Fi network (which is how most will use the device) but not the cellular connection, which should be activated and working without any setup for the families without Wi-Fi who qualified for that service.
What kind of internet access will the A9 tablets provide?
Tablets will offer access to our programs via the family's home Wi-Fi or, in some cases, cellular access that has been activated for the device.
Please note: While all A9 tablets will have a physical SIM card pre-installed and come with documentation about the card in case it is ever needed, most devices will not have the cellular data access enabled. Cellular data service will only be enabled for families who indicated during sign-up that they do not have a stable internet connection at their home. If you qualified for cellular access that capability will already be enabled and there is nothing you will need to do to activate it.
How will we know if cellular access is enabled for our A9 tablet?
If you indicated during the sign-up process that your home has reliable internet access, your device will not have cellular data access activated, and those who indicated they did not have reliable internet at home should have it activated automatically. If you do not have Wi-Fi access at home and you are able to access our programs using the device, that means that the cellular access is enabled. If you do have Wi-Fi at home and want to verify that cellular service is not active, you could either turn off your Wi-Fi router and test the device, or go outside or somewhere where there is no Wi-Fi network to connect to and test whether the device will access our programs without Wi-Fi.
Can participating families access our adaptive programs on their own computers or mobile devices?
Yes. Once they have signed up and activated their account, families can use the provided A9 tablet or another device they own to access My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, and My Reading Academy Español. Note: if you want to access our programs on another device or home computer, do not try to download the programs as apps. You will need to use a web browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, and not via an app. You can log in to those programs here.
Do families need to download My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, and My Reading Academy Español to the tablets?
No. The tablets will come pre-configured with icons that families can click to launch our programs on the tablet's web browser.
Will families receive access to ABCmouse?
No. ABCmouse is not included. This Pilot Project is intended to focus solely on developing kindergarten readiness skills in early math and reading skills through use of our adaptive programs, My Math Academy and My Reading Academy.
Can families download other programs to use on the tablets?
No. The tablets will be locked so families will only have access to the pre-loaded programs.
How long will families be able to use these programs?
Program licenses are set to expire on September 30, 2025, so students can use them to enhance kindergarten readiness through the start of the 2025/2026 school year.
Will families be able to keep their A9 tablets?
Yes. Families will be able to keep their tablets after the completion of the Pilot Project. After September 30, 2025, the program licenses expire and the devices can be unlocked and used to access other programs.
Can you provide device tracking information?
At this time, Age of Learning does not have access to tracking numbers or other device tracking or specific shipping information.
When should families expect their A9 tablet to be delivered?
At this time, we are not able to confirm shipping and delivery timelines, but a 2-4 week timeframe for device delivery is most likely. Your shipment will be delivered via FedEx or UPS, and a signature will be required upon receipt. The delivery service will make up to four delivery attempts and provide clear instructions on how to retrieve your package if delivery is unsuccessful.
Can families use your programs while waiting for the A9 tablet to be delivered?
Yes. Within 48 hours of your acceptance into this Readiness Program, we will roster your student(s) and send you an email with the student(s) QR code(s) and a Caregiver Guide. That will be followed by an account activation email. If you have a computer or other device (tablet or phone) with access to high-speed internet, you will be able to log in and use our programs after you activate your account, without waiting for a tablet to be delivered, if you qualified for one.
What should parents or caregivers do to help their children start using your programs?
You will likely need to help them log in from our Program Login page (for guidance, see this article) and select which program they want to work on.
Please note that when each child uses one of the programs for the first time, there will be a relatively short (probably less than. 30 min.) Placement Test that starts automatically. Your child will be presented with a series of activities to gauge their academic skill level so that we can set them up at just the right place with activities that aren't too hard or too easy as they work towards mastering new skills. Tell your child to do their best and select whatever answer they think is best and don't worry about getting things wrong: that is part of the process. Please do not help your child answer questions because that will make the system think the child is further along than they are and their future activities will be too hard.
Is there any training or classes for participating families?
Yes. Click here to access our online calendar and register for Kentucky Caregiver Training sessions in March, April, and May.
What should families do if they need additional support?
The Help Center you are visiting right now is filled with how-to articles covering the use of our programs and platforms, though it does not include additional information specific to this Kentucky Department of Education initiative or the devices they provided. The Caregivers section of our Help Center is a good place to browse for articles that may be helpful. You can also click the blue Chat icon in the bottom-right corner of any Help Center page (including this one) to start a Customer Care chat.
Do you have any more information about the Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project, and how it was created?
During the 2024 legislative session Representative Kevin Jackson introduced House Bill 695 to establish an Adaptive Kindergarten Readiness Pilot Project. The bill included the duration and terms of the pilot project along with selection of a service provider and submission of an evaluation report to the Legislative Research Commission. The bill passed overwhelmingly in the House and Senate and was signed by the Governor on April 4, 2024.
