Assigning a valid license to a student grants complete access to the Age of Learning program associated with the license, such as My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, or My Reading Academy Español. Without valid licenses assigned, students will not be able to use these programs (a license would be invalid if it has expired).
- As a Teacher, you do not need licenses assigned for yourself, but you do need to have students in your class who have valid licenses assigned to them in order to access the programs.
By default, Teachers don't have access to licenses to assign, which is typically the responsibility of top Administrators. However, Administrators often distribute licenses to other Admins and Teachers so they can help with the assignment of licenses. If you have been distributed
If you know licenses have been distributed to you, follow the simple steps below to assign them to students in your class. Contact your program Administrator if you need licenses for your students.
Assigning Licenses to Multiple Students
-
Log in to your Educator Center account.
-
At the top of your screen, click on Accounts, and then select Manage and Students from the drop-down.
- License statuses are displayed for each student, but if you would like to focus your search, click the Show Filters link on the left side, click the Select License Status tab on the right, and select Unassigned (or Expired). That way you can focus on only the students who still need to have a license assigned manually.
- Click the checkbox next to the name of each student you’d like to license (or click the very top checkbox to select all students).
Then click the Bulk Action menu on the right side of the page and select Assign Licenses from the drop-down list.
- Choose the product license or licenses available and click the Assign Licenses button.
If no licenses are listed to assign, it is likely they have not yet been distributed to your site. We recommend contacting your organization’s Age of Learning administrator for additional assistance.
Timing Reminder: While you have now assigned the licenses, they may take up to 4 hours to be activated for the students within our systems, so they may need to wait to access programs you just assigned.
Assigning Licenses to a Single Student
You can assign a single student a license using the Bulk Actions method described above, but some Teachers like to do it from the Student Info page to review other student information at the same time.
-
Log in to your Educator Center account.
-
At the top of your screen, click on Accounts, and then select Manage and Students from the drop-down.
- Click on the name of the student you’d like to license.
- On the Student Info page, scroll down to the Products section at the bottom and click +Assign Licenses.
- A new window will pop up, where you will click the Select radio button for any product licenses that are available. This Student in our demo account already had My Math Academy, so we are clicking to give her a My Reading Academy license, as well. Then click the blue Assign Licenses button at the bottom.
- You should now see the license you added for this Student. If you don’t see it, you may need to refresh the page.
Timing Reminder: While you have now assigned the licenses, they may take up to 4 hours to be activated for the student within our systems, so they may need to wait to access programs you just assigned.
