It is smart to double-check that all the rostering that you did to get Students set up properly came through the system. If, for example, a few students (or even a full class) didn't end up getting licenses assigned, they will be unable to log into any of the programs, won't be able to generate QR codes, and won't have any usage or progress to track. The Educator Center makes it easy to confirm this information. Here's how:
- Log in to the Educator Center at https://educate.aofl.com/.
- Click the Accounts menu, then in the drop-down menu select Manage and Students.
- On the Student page, the default view is to show all Active Students. If you are looking at a small class you could easily spot Students with missing licenses. Under each program column, if it doesn't say Assigned, Invited, or Redeemed, the student does have an valid license. If it says Unassigned, Expired, or is blank (three blank areas are highlighted in the screenshot below), the student does not have a valid license. There is a Class column that would show up blank for any child who wasn't assigned to a class.
A more efficient way to look for missing licenses, Classes, or other information is to use the Student filters. This is especially true if you are looking at Students from multiple classes, schools, or districts. Click the Show Filters link that's in the upper left of the table (see the arrow in the screenshot).
- Seven filter options will open up for you. They are as follows
-
- Select District: Use this if you want to focus on only one District or School.
- Select Class Assignment: Select NOT assigned to a Class to find Students missing a Class.
- Select Roster: Use this if you are trying to find Students at a particular time.
- Select Grade: Use this if you want to focus on only one grade.
- Select Product: Use this in conjunction with other filters if you want to narrow the results down based on product.
- Select License: Use this only if you have different license versions and you want to focus on one of them (the newest one, for example).
-
Select License Status: Use this to search based on license status, such as Assigned or Unassigned. You will most likely be looking for Unassigned so you can get them the licenses they need.
-
- After selecting Unassigned from the Select License Status the page will show only those students without a license. Remember, if you have only selected one filter, such as Unassigned, you can still go back and select another filter, if, for example, you only want to see Unassigned students at one school or in one grade.
- In this scenario, you probably want to assign licenses to these Students (assuming you have licenses available). You can click on Students individually and assign them one at a time, but you will more likely want to assign them all (or use another filter to narrow the list down first).
Click the top-left checkbox, above all the names and chose Select All. Then click the blue Bulk Actions menu and select Assign Licenses. (If you
- You will now see a pop-up that shows you what your license options are. You will see each program that you have licenses for, the total and the number currently available to assign, the type of license, and the type of home access that it allows. Click the Select radio button(s) for the product licenses you want to assign, then click the Assign Licenses button at the bottom.
- Look at the top of the page for a green pop-up confirming the Licensing was successful. It may take anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds depending on the size of the job and your connection.
- If you don't notice the pop-up, you can confirm the status by clicking the menu in the upper-right corner of the page that says Welcome and then your name. Then click Downloads and Jobs from the drop-down menu. The status of your Licensing job will be displayed on top.
- You could now select the Unassigned filter again to make sure no other Students are found, or use the filters for other issues, such as those Not assigned to a Class.
