In My Math Academy and My Reading Academy, each learning game starts with a short teaching intro. This brief "how to play" segment introduces the game's concept and often requires students to tap, drag, or respond before the can be moved into the full game activity — it won’t advance into the game if they just watch the intro.
If students seem stuck and aren't moving into the game:
✅ Step 1: Check for Interaction
Remind students: “The game won’t move forward until you tap or drag like the character shows you.”
Look for on-screen cues (sparkles, arrows, bouncing Shapeys indicate action is required).
✅ Step 2: Restart the Activity
Close the activity and reopen it.
If that doesn’t work, log the student out and back in.
✅ Step 3: Check the Device
Clear web browser cache/cookies
Try an Incognito/Private browser window.
Update the device operating system if applicable (we had a known issue affecting students using iPads with older iOS 16.5–16.7)
Try another device if available.
✅ Step 4: If It's Widespread / Whole Class Is Affected
If you have tried steps 1 - 3 and many students are still affected:
Note the activity name, CID, or Learning Objective shown.
Contact support with that info — there may be a bug in that specific game.
💡 Tip: Many times, students look stuck because they think the teaching intro is just a video — but it’s actually waiting for them to interact before it can start the game!
