If you’re using any iOS device, such as an iPad or iPhone, and the sound seems broken for My Math Academy and/or My Reading Academy games, it is possible that there's an issue with a game, but your sound problem is much more likely occurring because your device is in Silent Mode, has the ringer off, or has muted sound system-wide.
"But I can hear YouTube videos?" Silent Mode may still be the culprit for sound issues with our games. That's because some apps, such as YouTube, have privileges to ignore Apple's systemwide iOS audio settings. Hearing audio on these other sites can make it seem like your audio is not muted when it really is.
What You Should Do
How you find and verify the Silent Mode and other Sound Settings varies quite a bit by device.
- Physical Button on Side: On some iPads/iPhones, Silent Mode is controlled by a physical button on the side of the device. Toggle that button and see whether it fixes it.
- Ringer: Your muted audio might also be affected by your device’s ringer. Try turning your ringer on to unmute the audio.
- System-wide Sound Settings: Some iPads/iPhones have system-level sound setting. Go to Settings and make sure your audio is not muted systemwide.
- Control Center: Some iPads/iPhones have sound settings in the Control Center. Try toggling the “bell” icon here; this toggle controls your device’s audio.
