With the Dashboards in the Educator Center, Admins and Teachers can assess students’ completed skills by grade level, monitor ongoing progress, and identify areas requiring additional support. This plays a crucial role in tailoring and customizing lesson plans for individual students.
In this article, you’ll discover how to proficiently monitor student progress, both for the entire classroom and individual students with the Progress Dashboard. Note: Data for the Progress Dashboard updates nightly at 12:00 a.m. (PST).
- Log in to your Educator Center account.
-
My Math Academy data is shown by default. If you need data for My Reading Academy or My Reading Academy Español, click the program drop-down to switch to the one you need.
- Click Dashboards, then Progress.
- Progress and Usage Dashboards both show data for This Week by default. Click the Overall tab.
- Under the Overall tab you just clicked, you’ll see that a smaller Skills by Standard tab is highlighted. Below that, you will see an incredibly detailed chart. (Admins will likely need to use the filters to click down one or more levels from their higher-level view to see student data.)
Start by using the Select a Standards Set drop-down to choose which standards you are using in your school. Next, click into the grade level to see the Math or Reading standards for the grade and standard set you chose.
The first column (All) to the right of the standards shows the number and percentage of students who have mastered that skill, either as Prior Knowledge or having completed it this year. The next color-coded columns highlight skills In Progress or Needs Support. The columns further to the right with two-letter linked headings are for individual students. Scan down the color-coded list of circles for any student to see where they are for the standards you’re interested in.
- Scroll down below the Skills by Standards chart to see the Overall Student Growth chart. The Current Grade tab will be highlighted. Click Prior Grade(s) if you want to see completed skills for previous grades. The top bar graph is showing the progress of your students’ average number of skills completed. Watch it getting longer and greener as your students progress.
The next section, Distribution of Student Growth, gives you a quick and easy way to visualize the distribution of your student in terms of the skills they have mastered for the next grade. Again, in the beginning of the year, you’ll likely see all or most in the Getting Started category, and then get to watch them move on to the Making Progress, Almost There, and Mastery categories. Click on any of the student name to get lots of details about the skills they are currently working on.
