Interested in leveraging your Age of Learning programs to support your students’ learning during the summer? We’ve compiled a list of resources and answers to common questions that will assist you in setting up and managing the programs to meet your summer learning needs effectively.
Can my summer school classes include students from other assigned schools?
- Yes, they can! Summer school often takes place in designated schools that are not necessarily a student’s regular school. To support this model, our platform enables the creation of classes at one school containing students and teachers from multiple schools within the district. After class setup, teachers and administrators at the host school will have full visibility of all enrolled students, regardless of their primary school association.
How do I assign licenses to my summer school students?
- Licensing students for summer school is as simple as ensuring the student’s primary (home) school has available licenses to assign, or that the summer school they will be attending has licenses that can be allocated to them during the summer school period.
- Be aware of the license renewal dates and ensure those dates won’t impact your students’ program usage during your summer school timeframe. You can check a student’s license status by following these steps found here.
- We recommend that you keep students enrolled at their primary school while adding them to any new classes at their designated summer school location. This approach guarantees that students maintain access to their licenses from their home school, regardless of where they attend summer school.
Note: We advise that you create summer school classes within the existing school framework in the Educator Center, rather than adding new schools for summer students. Any student removed from their primary school and placed in a school without available licenses will be unable access the Age of Learning programs. |
What reporting is available for my summer school classes/students?
-
Within the Age of Learning platform, data is permanently associated with the individual student account, unaffected by changes to their school or class assignments. This ensures seamless tracking and streamlines reporting for summer school programs, facilitating educators’ ability to monitor progress and outcomes with ease.
What happens to my students’ summer school data once summer school ends?
- Within the Age of Learning platform, a student's progress is maintained year-round, regardless of the setting—be it in school or at home. Any progress made during the summer will be carried forward, providing a continuous learning path into the next academic year.
Note: Student progress within the Age of Learning platform will be restarted for a student anytime a placement test is taken. For returning or second year students, be sure to print out any reports from the previous year that may be needed for your records prior to students taking their new placement tests. |
Can my students use their Age of Learning programs at home during the summer?
- We’re always excited for students to engage with their Age of Learning applications throughout the summer, whether they’re in school or learning from home. Age of Learning is accessible for at-home use without restrictions, ensuring that students can continue their learning journey in any setting, provided they have access to an active license.
