While we believe in making learning engaging and fun for our students, we also want to ensure that our programs are effective. To that end, we've implemented a daily 15-minute goal and progress bar within both My Reading Academy and My Math Academy to encourages consistent practice and progress towards their weekly usage goals of 60 minutes for My Math Academy and 45 minutes for My Reading Academy, which is tracked on the Educator Center’s Usage Dashboard.
Daily 15-Minute Goal
Every student is set a daily goal of 15 minutes for their learning activities on each of our programs. This goal serves as a motivating target to encourage regular engagement with the educational content. It's essential for students to spend at least 15 minutes actively participating in learning activities for each subject to reach their daily goals. With just three 15 minute sessions students will meet their weekly goal of 45 minutes of usage for My Reading Academy. The 60 minute weekly usage goal for My Math Academy would be reached in four sessions.
The following screenshot shows the progress bar for My Reading Academy getting close to the 15-min daily goal.
The Activity Meter: Tracking Your Progress
The Activity Meters in My Reading Academy and My Math Academy allow students to monitor their progress towards the daily goal. The meters track the time students spend engaging in learning activities. It's important to note that the Activity Meter measures time spent on math and reading activities, not the number of activities completed. This emphasizes the importance of focused learning and allows students to pace themselves accordingly.

Celebrating Learning with Our Dance Party Reward
Whenever a student successfully reaches their daily 15-minute goal, which is tracked by the progress bar in each program, the student is treated to a well-deserved dance party to celebrate their success! There’s nothing for the teacher to do to activate it; once the goal is met, the dance party should automatically activate for that student.
Keep in mind that the dance party is only activated when a student reaches 15 minutes of activity during a single 24 hour period and will only be activated once every 24 hours. If the student gets a dance party after 15 minutes and then continues playing and reaches 30 minutes of usage that day, they won't get a second dance party.
The in-game progress bar is also reset for each child each night; program usage on prior days does not factor in to the progress bar or dance party the next day (though of course it is tracked on the Usage Dashboards in the Educator Center).
We hope that the dance party is a lively and joyful celebration of your students’ commitment to learning. Teachers regularly report that it’s a fun way for them to unwind and feel good about their accomplishments, creating a positive and energetic learning environment.
If you ever have any issues with how the dance party is or is not being activated, you can reach out to us and submit a ticket.
