Should I fully close the ABCmouse app?

On some devices, leaving the ABCmouse app without closing it may leave some features running in the background. By choosing to “Force Stop” an application on your mobile device, it will fully exit the app. This helps ensure all features of the app are turned off and that the application is ready to restart.

Android Phone and Tablet

To force stop the ABCmouse app on an Android device, refer to the steps below:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Select Apps.
3. Choose All apps.
4. Select ABCmouse.
5. Then, select Force Stop.

iPhone and iPad

For iPhones or tablets with no home button, refer to the steps below:

1. Go to your main Home screen.
2. From the bottom-left corner of the screen, swipe up and left.
3. This will bring up the multitask tray and display the apps currently running.
4. Swipe up on the preview of ABCmouse to force stop ABCmouse.

For iPhones or tablets with a home button (older generation), refer to the steps below:

1. Go to your main Home screen.
2. Double-click your Home button to bring up the multitask tray, which displays the apps currently running.
3. Swipe up on the preview of ABCmouse to force stop ABCmouse.

Fire Tablet

1. Swipe down from the bar at the top of the screen.
2. Then go to More > Applications > Installed Applications.
3. Select ABCmouse.
4. Press Force Stop.
