New Features to Promote Grade Assignments
Educators are not able to effectively manage students—or include them in class reports—if the students have not been assigned a core grade (pre-K - 2nd) on our platform. To help ensure that all students are assigned a grade, we have now made Grade a Required field when manually creating/rostering new students on the Educator Center or rostering with OneRoster. We have also streamlined the grade menu on the Student Info page and removed a “Not Applicable” option.
New Features to Manage Admins
Admins cannot log in to the Educator Center if they aren’t assigned a Role, which typically happens during the initial rostering process. To help Top-Level Admins better manage other Admins within their organization, we have added a Role Assignment filter to the Manage Administrators page in the Educator Center. This is now a quick and easy way to identify any Admins without an assigned Role.
Top-level Admins are now shown in the Manage Administrators section when logged into an Administrator account. These Top-Level Admins are not editable and are not impacted by any type of roster import.
3rd - 5th Grades Integrated in Dashboards
As we continue to roll out learning activities for grades 3-5, we have also been integrating these grades into our Dashboards. You can see them now on the Progress Dashboard on the Skills by Standards tab:
You can now also click the Skills by Group tab (District in the following screenshots) and then access the higher grade levels by clicking the carat > on the right end of the graph (see arrow below). This change affects School Level and above. The new interface is designed to be more intuitive so that educators can monitor skill progress for groups at a glance.
Spanish Translations for 3rd-5th Grade Skills
Spanish Translations are now available for Skills in 3rd-5th Grade. This will enhance the accessibility of our content by giving the user the option to present it in their native or preferred language.
You can set your preferred language when logging in to the Educator Center or click the language drop-down menu at any time to select Spanish.
Streamlined Report Generation
When you select the Reports menu from the top of the Educator Center screen, the new Reports screen has been streamlined and simplified, with the Timeframe dropdown removed from the default view (but will be available for any report it may be needed for). Growth Reports will continue to offer the Timeframe dropdown option with the Month selector. If only one year is available, it will default to that year on display. If multiple years are present, the user will be able to select them from the dropdown.
New Email Alerts
Admins Without Roles
Another way we are helping organizations identify Administrators with no assigned Role in the Educator Center (which means they will be unable to log in) is by creating email alerts. These emails will now be automatically sent to all role-less Admins (and to Top-Level Admins) to let them know that they should be assigned a Role to gain the permissions needed to access the Educator Center.
License Expiration
All Admins with license permissions will now be sent an email when they have students with licenses nearing expiration. These alerts are triggered to be sent out two weeks prior to the license expiration date. If any students’ licenses expire, an expiration email alert is also sent to all Admins and Teachers who have those students.
New Product Logos and Product Dropdown
The product logos for My Math Academy and My Reading Academy, which are featured throughout the Educator Center, have been redesigned with color to help identify their subjects (Math and Reading) quickly and make it less likely that the wrong one is selected. We’ve also added a logo for My Reading Academy Español—our new Spanish literacy program designed to help accelerate Spanish reading fluency—which you will now see if your organization has a license.
These new logos (My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, My Reading Academy Español), along with logos for ABCmouse, ABCmouse Aprende Inglés, and ReadingIQ, will appear in the Educator Center’s product drop-down in that order. Organizations that don’t have licenses for a program will have that product removed from the list.
Educator U Professional Learning Resources
Clicking on Resources at the top of your Educator Center screen takes you to our Resources page, which features helpful resources focused on developing students’ Skills and Concepts, classroom Lesson Plans (PDFs), Help Center articles, and our Professional Learning hub, which has been rebranded as Educator U to reflect our high-level commitment to teachers and their ongoing professional development.
