New MRA Standards-Based Lesson Plans for Common Core and TEKS
We are excited to announce that we’ve begun rolling out what we expect to be a game-changer for educators using My Reading Academy: Our Educator Center now offers teachers downloadable lesson plans that align with CCSS and TEKS standards
Begin by selecting the My Reading Academy product drop-down menu, adn then click Resources. Schools using Common Core or TEKS standards will see a Lesson Plans section with a wealth of PDF-based Lesson Plans, which you can browse by grade and topic. Find the lesson plan(s) that work for you, click to download the PDF, and use this offline resource to enhance your classroom teaching. Note: If you organization is rostered as aligned with other standards, you will not see these CCSS or TEKS lesson plans. We will announce when lesson plans for other standards are available.
Updated By Month and By Week Student Usage Data with Goal Line
To make it even easier for Teachers to quickly assess an individual student’s program usage relative to your organization’s weekly or monthly minutes goal, we have added a goal line to our Educator Center’s Usage Dashboard charts.
You can see this new feature by clicking Dashboards at the top of your screen and selecting Usage from the drop-down menu. Click on either the By Week or By Month tab at the top of the Dashboard, depending on the timeframe you are interested in. Scroll down to the list of students and click the icon to the left of any student name.
You will see a chart showing this student’s usage, in minutes, over eight weeks or months (depending on which you selected), with a clear usage goal line based on your organization’s target goal for this product.
New Filters to Identify Program Licensing Issues
So that Teachers and Administrators are aware of potential issues with students’ My Math Academy and My Reading Academy licenses expiring, we have added a filter within the Educator Center to help you identify these students.
To get started using this new filter, click on Accounts at the top of your screen, then select Manage > Students from the drop-down menu.
At the top of the Active Students page, just below the search box, click the Show Filters link to surface all your filtering options. Click the Select License Status drop-down and then choose Expiring Soon (2 Wks). You can also use this same filter to check for any students Unassigned a product license or other statuses that may be an issue.
New Filters to Identify Teacher Assignment Issues
Admins now have the ability to filter Teachers based on Class Assignment and select NOT assigned to a Class, so that they can identify any teachers who do not have a classroom and therefore may not have a valid program license.
To get started using this new filter, click on Accounts at the top of your screen, then select Manage > Teachers from the drop-down menu.
At the top of the Active Teachers page, just below the search box, click the Show Filters link to surface all your filtering options. Click the Select Class Assignment drop-down and then choose NOT assigned to a Class.
New OneRoster Options for Rostering Admins
When bulk rostering in Admins via OneRoster, you will now see two new fields in the users.csv: Read Only and Hide PII. These optional fields can be set to True or False.
When Read Only is set to True and Hide PII is set to False (or not set at all), that Admin will have no functional permissions, but will have PII access.
When Read Only is set to False (or not set at all) and Hide PII is set to True, that Admin will have no functional permissions and no Student PII will be visible.
Note: These two new fields cannot both be set to True: an Admin cannot be both a Read-Only and Hide PII Admin.
SSO Non-License and Error Redirects for MMA and MRA
When attempting to connect to Math Academy or My Reading Academy via an SSO such as Clever or ClassLink without a valid license, or in the instance of any other sort of error, users will now be redirected back to login.ageoflearning.com rather than seeing an error screen.
